From the family to the community, to the nation,to the world: sport is underpinned by the ideals and practicalities of love. In 2011-12 Ponch was the Basil Sellers Creative Arts Fellow at The National Sports Museum at the MCG, and investigated the role of love, support and sacrifice in sport.
The work was presented as a temple to love,located within another temple, the Melbourne Cricket Ground,the shrine to sport .It explored the various kinds of love that circulate within the pyramid of sport that has the elite athlete at the pinnacle.
